Stepping into the verse’ of the known, we try to change our concept of reality with technology. It’s a very weird feeling moving your ideals into a new plane of thought. Augmented reality is such an approach that you perceive extra dimensions on-top of your physical plane. Here is a building that displays QR codes that can be used for a variety of applications (shopping, twitter updates, advertising, entertainment, etc).

The iPhone application is not in the iTunes App Store, but is available to interested parties on request. The project is a collaboration between teradadesign and Qosmo.

Imagine yourself walking around the grocery store holding your phone up to every product for up-to-date reviews. Imagine going out to a night club, pointing your phone at a person  to view their social profile (“Oh, that person like’s cheese?”). There may be a time where you browse your favorite books at the library with QR codes. You could put a QR code on the back of your transportation that links to your website. The best part about QR codes is, you don’t know what you’re going to get. It’s like finding treasure (good or bad).

Wow this is sweet. Check out this instrument that I’ve never heard of before, the Eigenharp Alpha, by Eigen Labs. It’s a professional instrument that took 8 years of development.

Available in a variety of finishes, it has 120 highly sensitive keys, 12 percussion keys, 2 strip controllers, a breath pipe and numerous pedal inputs. This gives almost endless possibilities for flexible keyboard layouts, fast instrument switching and expressive musical control. The comprehensive software system provides a wealth of musical performance features, including playback of its own native instruments, many common software plugins, soundfonts or midi instruments.

That’s crazy. I would like to see one of these up close, jeez. I wonder how hard it would be to learn. Requires Mac OS X to run the software. They also appear to have an easier-2-master’ version, the Pico.

RSS is really simple to setup and delivers instant updates of what you want to know about, at all times, from WHO you want. The technology is so old, yet a lot of people have no idea what it’s even for. You find something you like, locate their RSS feed url, add to your feed reader (google, firefox, or Internet Explorer), and consume.

Oh and the last update, I’ve sped up the homepage considerably. I added some more caching and implemented cron automation to the RSS generated content. Nothing should lag on your first view anymore. It’s just tight like that.
